Taking the train home

Palmetto Station, Miami Metro Green Line

There’s always space for one more on the Palmetto platform. Since Palmetto is the northern terminus of the Green Line, trains sit here until it’s their turn to depart and begin their voyage down to Dadeland South station. Until July 2012, when the Miami International Airport station opened, this was the system’s newest station, having opened in 2003. It was supposed to attract a large amount of northern commuters from Northwestern Miami-Dade and South Broward County, but unfortunately on most days, this station is rarely busy.

  1. Great photo!

  2. When I was in Miami, I only took the train a few times. But I really wish that I took advantage of it more, especially so I could explore downtown. What a great city.

    1. Many people unfortunately don’t take the train, but it’s not entirely their fault. The Metro system doesn’t go everywhere people need to go. It still doesn’t go to South Beach despite it being one of the most popular areas of the city.
