Few cities have as many runners and joggers as Washington, DC. Once 5/6pm comes along, the DC neighborhood sidewalks of Adams Morgan and Columbia Heights are alive with runners. Perhaps it’s the stress of politics or perhaps it’s the temperate not-so cold, not-so hot weather of DC that makes running so attractive. Who knows.
It’s nice to see that a city as large and busy as DC, can provide safe and all-inclusive streets for runners. Not just cars, but also bicyclists and pedestrians. There’s a critical mass of runners and joggers because they feel safe using the city’s streets for exercise. Some willpower to actually want to exercise and running amongst such beautiful monuments also help. For what it’s worth, this time of year is a perfect time to go for a run in the District!
