The Downtown Pompano Beach Transit-Oriented Corridor (DPTOC) master plan was approved by the Broward County Commission at today’s meeting in Downtown Fort Lauderdale.
The plan received negative comments from some members of the community stating they had not been included in the planning process. County commissioners Kristin Jacobs and Dale Holness reinforced the numerous public meetings and outreach the city and CRA have held to get the public’s input. City commissioners Woodrow Poitier and Rex Hardin, and Mayor Lamar Fisher were in attendance supporting the plan, as well as numerous Pompano residents and business owners. Ultimately, it was unanimously approved by the Broward Commission.
The DPTOC plan will go before the Pompano Beach City Commission in November for final approval. This is a great step forward towards a better, more urban Pompano Beach!
