Fickle summer rain over Miami

Unlike most regions of the United States, Miami only has two seasons- the wet season (Summer) and the dry season (Winter). That’s all we need. We don’t play around with having to deal with four seasons. We know that if it’s winter time, it’ll be cool, breezy and dry out and if it’s summer time, we should bring an umbrella, because it will rain, and it will start to pour at 5:05pm, just as you’re leaving the office. You could always wait 15 minutes, because that’s how long rain lasts in Miami, but you don’t want to be stuck in the office an extra 15 minutes, so you bring an umbrella.

Summer is back in full force in Miami, as evidenced in the pictures below. This is a typical “afternoon shower” in Miami. It looks like the world is coming to an end, but it’s really just fast moving clouds that will bring about 15 minutes of intense, Hurricane Andrew-like rainfall and then the clouds will part and it will be sunny like nothing ever happened. That’s just life in the Magic City.
